Sulaiman Murad, BVMS, was an interpreter with the U.S. military in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, conducted from March 2003 to September 2010, with U.S. forces officially leaving Iraq in December 2011. Previously he had earned a Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine from Mosul University in Mosul, Iraq. He now lives in Lincoln, Nebraska. His new book, “Far Beyond Words: Stories of Military Interpreting in Iraq,” is due out later this summer from Infusionmedia and will be available through www.farbeyondiraq.com.
