Robert Swanson has been director of the USGS Nebraska Water Science Center (NEWSC) since 2004. He is also coordinator of the Platte River Priority Ecosystem Study and serves on the Enterprise Publishing Network–Customer Advisory Group. The NEWSC operates over 100 streamgaging stations, about 70 continuous groundwater recorders and compiles groundwater levels for over 5,000 wells in Nebraska.
