Mitch Paine
Mitch Paine attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Natural Resources and Environmental Economics. He will be studying abroad at the University of Ghana for the 2008–2009 school year. He is part of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program and has spent many hours outside on the prairie studying the native plants and animals. He recently spoke at the United Nations International Day of Peace about the Roots & Shoots program, as well as his efforts to save the endangered Salt Creek tiger beetle. His other environmental activities include the Lincoln Mayor’s Environmental Task Force and the Nebraska Sierra Club.
