Maxine Moul is Nebraska state director of USDA Rural Development. She was appointed to the position by President Obama in 2009. She is a former newspaper co-publisher and president and CEO of Maverick Media in Syracuse, Neb. She served as Nebraska’s lieutenant governor and director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development in the 1990s administration of Ben Nelson. She was the first chair of the Nebraska Rural Development Commission and the first president/CEO of the Nebraska Community Foundation. She and her husband, Francis, live in Lincoln, Neb.
