Larry S. Buss has served as a senior advisor/national expert with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the areas of flood risk management and nonstructural flood risk reduction, with over 40 years of experience with the Corps of Engineers in water resources. Buss is also a past chair of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers National Nonstructural/Flood Proofing Committee. Buss currently serves as co-chair of the Association of State Flood Plain Managers Committee on Nonstructural/Flood Proofing and is a member of the association. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa, a Certified Flood Plain Manager and has been recognized as a Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers.
