Jane Hanson
Jane Hanson, Ph.D., is an alumna of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (’75) who was the faculty director for the University of Iowa’s Summer 2008 Olympic Ambassadors Project in Beijing. Her 24 journalism students volunteered for the Olympic News Service and were the first foreign international Olympic volunteers to arrive in Beijing last summer. She also wrote human-interest stories for the English language newspaper The China Daily while in Beijing. Hanson is a native Nebraskan, with a rich journalistic background, who has lived and traveled abroad extensively. Hanson has her doctorate in foreign language and ESL education from the University of Iowa and currently teaches for the Intensive English Program at the University of Nebraska. Hanson will also teach a course for the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the fall in the bilingual endorsement program in Teacher Education. Her languages are Spanish and Mandarin.
