James W. Hewitt

James W. Hewitt is president of the Friends of the Center for Great Plains Studies. After years of dedicated legal service as an attorney, he earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is currently an adjunct professor of history at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He is the author of “Slipping Backward: A History of the Nebraska Supreme Court” (University of Nebraska Press, 2007).
