Alton M. Wilhelms

Alton M. “Mook” Wilhelms is a past president of the Nebraska Press Association, which also named him Master Editor-Publisher of 2002. In 2008, he was named Journalism All American by Midland Lutheran College. Mook was elected as a member of the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame Board of Directors in 1992. In his newspaper column “Mutterings by Mook,” he’d always end with “I am a Nebraska football fan. What makes you happy?”
